Orientation and foundations
All new students must complete a 90-minute, humans-only Orientation before attending classes. In this session, you’ll learn the basics of our training approach, practice clicker mechanics, and review important safety guidelines to set you and your dog up for success. Students who have previously taken classes may skip this requirement.
This class covers the basics of training on which all other training is built: attention to the owner, Touch, Find It, Sit, Down, and teaching your dog or puppy to respond to their name.
Recall
Lay the foundations for a solid recall. Learn three different methods to train your dog to respond to your voice. You will also learn how to tell when your dog is ready to listen, and how to set you and your dog up for a successful recall training session.
Build on the foundations established in Recall 1, expanding on the basic recall methods to teach your dog to run to you, even if they can't see you when you call for them.
Take on the ultimate recall class! Continue to build on the foundations established in Recall 1 and 2, expanding on the basic recall methods to teach your dog to run to you, even if their path is full of distractions! This class is repeatable - the distractions will change every session, so no two classes will be the same.
Leash Walking
Lay the foundations for polite leash walking. Learn how to build attention on leash and teach your dog to stand calmly at your side, setting you both up for successful walks.
Build on the foundations established in Leash Walking 1, combining the basic skills into smooth forward momentum while strengthening your dog’s attention on leash.
Take leash walking into the real world! Continue building on the foundations established in Leash Walking 1 and 2, applying your skills in more distracting environments. Learn how to use sniffing as a reward for polite leash walking while strengthening your dog’s focus around real-life challenges. This class is repeatable; the distractions will change every session, so no two classes will be the same!
Polite Greetings
Lay the foundations for polite greetings and household manners. Learn how to prevent jumping and keep your dog off furniture with clear, consistent expectations.
Build on the foundations established in Polite Greetings 1, focusing on calm, appropriate behavior around guests in your home. Learn how to prevent jumping and guide your dog to remain settled while people enter your house.
Take your polite greeting skills into the real world! Build on the foundations established in Polite Greetings 1 and 2, preventing jumping during walks and reinforcing calm behavior around extended guest visits.
Drop it
Lay the foundations for teaching your dog to drop toys and other low-value items. Begin building the “Leave It” cue to prevent your dog from picking up forbidden items such as shoes, phone chargers, and tv remotes.
Build on the foundations established in Drop It 1, teaching your dog to release new toys and high-value items such as food puzzles and chews. Expand on the “Leave It” cue, guiding your dog to turn away from and ignore tempting items placed on the floor or within reach.
Take your Drop It skills to the next level! Build on the foundations established in Drop It 1 and 2, teaching your dog to work for toys instead of relying on treats while strengthening “Leave It” around food and other animals.
Door dashing
Put a stop to door dashing and barrier rushing. Teach your dog to wait for permission before crossing barriers like doors, curbs, stair cases, and room entrances, keeping them safe and out from underfoot in high-risk situations.
Calmer dog
Lay the foundations for a calmer, more focused dog. Learn basic behaviors that help your high-strung or easily excitable dog develop self-control and relaxation.
Build on the foundations established in Calmer Dog 1, strengthening your dog’s ability to maintain calm behavior for longer periods and in a wider variety of situations.
Take calm to the next level! Build on the foundations established in Calmer Dog 1 and 2, strengthening lasting calm until it becomes your dog’s new normal.
Overcoming distractions
Lay the foundations for focus and engagement. Teach your easily distracted or reactive dog to build attention skills and remain connected to you despite mild distractions.
Build on the foundations established in Overcoming Distractions 1, increasing difficulty while strengthening your dog’s ability to stay engaged around greater distractions.
Take your dog’s focus into the real world! Build on the foundations established in Overcoming Distractions 1 and 2, strengthening reliability around both predictable challenges and unexpected distractions.
